The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor or Full Professor position in the tenure track who has expertise in the impact of mental health on HIV prevention and treatment including integrated treatment for substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders. Expertise is required in the specific areas of Public Health Epidemiology and Mental Health. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
Teaching responsibilities will be contingent on the training and expertise of the selected candidate and may include: lectures on related topics in courses in psychiatry epidemiology and related disciplines; lectures to medical students and residents interested in psychiatry and infectious disease.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing an extramurally funded independent biobehavioral research agenda that addresses the prevention of HIV transmission among populations at highest risk of acquiring HIV and strategies for improved treatment engagement and retention among people with HIV including new models of care that integrate treatments for substance use mental health and other common cooccurring conditions.
