Pay Rate (Check One): Standard CBWS Hourly Rate $15/hr). This position is subject to an annual wage increase.

IMPORTANT: STUDENTS MUST HAVE A STATE OR FEDERAL WORK AWARD TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR COMMUNITY BASED WORK STUDY (CBWS) POSITIONS. Student CBWS work eligibility is subject to change due to work award redeterminations over the summer. This means even students who were a chosen applicant for the position may be ineligible to work if they do not have a state/federal work award come Fall 2025. Students who are unsure if they currently have a state or federal work award please contact before applying to find out what type of work award you have.

Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): The Human Services Program Assistant will provide essential support to CAC by assisting with administrative outreach and programmatic tasks. This position is ideal for a student interested in gaining handson experience in social services community engagement and nonprofit work. As a student workstudy assistant you will have the opportunity to contribute to various human services programs and services that support individuals in Rice County.

Transferable Skills:

  • Superior attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Learn about community resources and the workings of human services programs

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help with executing community mailings
  • Assist with seasonal programs and projects as needed
  • Assist with data entry documentation and file management
  • Help coordinate program activities events and community
    outreach efforts
  • Help maintain and update program databases and spreadsheets
  • Provide support for any additional tasks or projects as needed

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)

  • Reliable
  • Interest in social services human services or related fields
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and detailoriented
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information
