Job Title: Staff Nurse for Dental Clinic (Day Shift)
Overview
The Staff Nurse plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of highquality dental care within our clinic. This position is crucial for providing direct patient care coordinating with dental professionals and ensuring a safe clean and comfortable environment for patients. The Staff Nurse serves as a vital link between patients and the dental team offering emotional support and practical assistance. Responsibilities encompass a variety of tasks from patient assessments and preparation for treatments to postoperative care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dental procedures excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic setting. This role is integral to enhancing the overall patient experience promoting dental health and supporting the clinical team in achieving their objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments and document medical histories.
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures.
- Manage patient scheduling and maintain appointment records.
- Educate patients regarding oral hygiene and posttreatment care.
- Administer medications as directed by the dentist.
- Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Monitor and manage patient vital signs.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to anxious patients.
- Implement infection control procedures as per established guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation of dental materials and instruments.
- Coordinate with dental technicians for prosthetic and restorative procedures.
- Document patient treatments and maintain accurate health records.
- Participate in continuous education and professional development.
- Collaborate with the dental team for improved patient outcomes.
- Address patient inquiries and manage followup care as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience in dental or oral health settings preferred.
- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a teamoriented environment.
- Detailoriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Basic life support and first aid training.
- Understanding of infection prevention and control practices.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Flexibility to handle emergency situations calmly.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and multitask.
- Compassionate and patientfocused demeanor.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
- Willingness to work day shifts and flexible hours as needed.
