PHILOSOPHY
Nashville Christian School founded by members of the Churches of Christ and in partnership with students parents and staff strives to give honor and glory to God through Jesus Christ in all aspects of its daytoday programs. We Nashville Christian School seek to provide a Christcentered and nurturing environment in order to develop our students into committed and productive Christian servants in all areas of this life and in preparation for eternity. DESCRIPTION
Our Mission is to be a Christian authentic dynamic school equipping students to be global leaders. The Nashville Christian School Teacher is a Christian professional demonstrating Christs love while helping students realize and pursue their full potential spiritually intellectually physically and socially. The Nashville Christian School teacher exemplifies the schools mission and vision to all stakeholders.
OBJECTIVES
- The teacher has a relationship with the Lord that includes an active membership in a local church. Accordingly each teacher must be morally upright in public and personal life.
- The teacher will support and teach the core beliefs held by the school. The teacher will lead in dress conduct attitude and intellectual pursuit.
- The teacher will maintain a classroom environment that models Christlike interaction and positively promotes student development while inspiring a love of learning. The teacher understands that as ambassadors for Christ students are his or her first ministry.
- The teacher will use innovative teaching methods implementing critical thinking strategies. Lessons will contain handson interactive activities incorporating technology using both iPads laptops and the Promethean Board. Instruction and assessment will be differentiated to challenge each student appropriately. The teacher will conscientiously provide accommodations to students with identified learning challenges in consultation with the schools learning specialist.
- The teacher is responsible for finding ways to educate all children and it is the teachers duty to participate in professional development activities that foster this responsibility. Practices such as differentiated instruction datadriven instruction and identifying areas of weakness in students are crucial to developing the quality of classroom instruction.
- The teacher will consistently communicate expectations and progress to students and parents. The teacher will incorporate a variety of methods to communicate including conferences phone calls and email. The teacher will proficiently use Renweb as a tool to track attendance document behavior and post lesson plans and grades.
- The teacher will participate and initiate collaborative efforts between teachers of all departments. The teacher will support and participate in schoolwide activities particularly those pertaining to their students involvement.
