Minimum 4 6 years of relevant and progressive work experience in the accounting field.
Prior public accounting and/or insurance industry experience strongly preferred
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or Economics
Proven accounting background with an understanding of U.S. GAAP for compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Tableau.
Strong analytical and organizational skills; problem solver.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and detail oriented.
Must be able to establish a high level of credibility with all levels of internal operations and external clients.
High level of integrity work ethic and a team player.
Must be creative and innovative with ability to research and find solutions

Work Environment
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting standing and walking vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.

What to Expect
The Sr. Insurance Accounting Associate will provide accounting and financial reporting support primarily focusing on HCIs insurance product portfolio and reinsurance accounting and act as a lead for lowerlevel associates. Key responsibilities include assisting with annual HCI financial statement audits ensuring KSOX compliance participating in UAT testing for system changes and integrations supporting HCI product launches preparing journal entries with appropriate documentation creating reports and analyzing key performance drivers within the function.
What You Will Do
1. Support assigned monthend close tasks including but not limited to monthly / quarterly/ annual variance analysis unusual journal entries intercompany tie outs unclaimed property reporting and quarter end footnote disclosures. Coordinate with external program administrator and external auditors to support annual audit PBCs and preparation of financial statements and relevant footnotes.
2. Act as main contact for reinsurance accounting programs update monthly dealer structures review and provide approval for monthly dealer statement issuance. Support HCI product launches and prepare UAT documentations to satisfy control requirements under Korean SarbanesOxley (KSOX).
3. Prepare assigned monthly general ledger account reconciliations; conduct investigations regarding variances and suggest various resolutions to address discrepancies. Identify process improvement opportunities and utilize automation tools for reconciliations.
4. Assist FP&A and Treasury team to prepare monthly cash forecasts and propose discretionary deposits to investment account to maintain required cashflow and achieve maximum return on investment.
5. Coordinate with licensing HCI operations and external actuaries to prepare annual compliance reporting support workpaper disclosures MD&A support and other memos as required by AZ FL WI and WY.
