Description

Vertis is hiring a Logistics Commodity Manager in Westerville OH. This person will be responsible for driving the identification and of category plans and strategic sourcing initiatives through their assigned categories of Americas Indirect and Logistics spend totaling $450M. This regional position will at times work with Global Procurement Indirect/Logistics team members in a matrixed environment. This role will primarily support the Americas region but is expected to work with global and regional teams as appropriate to share best practices and standardize global processes where applicable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Establishing leading and supporting cross functional category teams to develop and maintain Category Strategies within their assigned regional Indirect categories; Ocean transportation air transportation and parcel transportation.
  2. Is responsible for long term planning strategy development and support continuous improvement of assigned spend categories.
  3. Develops and implements sourcing negotiating and contracting strategies to achieve the desired outcomes aligned with the Category Strategy for global indirect procurement categories.
  4. Directs crossfunctional teams using analysis of historical spend data market research and cost modeling to identify and leverage high value opportunities that deliver innovative and sustainable value operational efficiencies and risk mitigation to the business.
  5. Establishes total landed cost model and/or Total Cost of Ownership Model for the category in alignment with stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrates improvement in cost cash flow quality and risk related to assigned categories of Indirect spend
  7. Supports dotted line / matrixed global Indirect Procurement associates when collaboration is required.
  8. Provides leadership to key stakeholders throughout the company and builds relationships that facilitate the realization of delivering strategic and financial value.
  9. Manages the preferred supplier program with a plan for every partner to ensure business continuity performance and best price.
  10. The Indirect Americas Category Manager will manage their assigned Indirect Categories as an owner. This will involve working closely with value stream partners to improve performance and cost. Done well this work will reduce the friction felt by customers and make Vertiv easier to do business with.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain Business Engineering or related area.
  • Prefer a minimum of 5 years experience in procurement/sourcing/supply chain/logistics operations.
  • CPSM CLTD CSCP PMP or equivalent certification(s) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience sourcing negotiating and contracting for transportation services highly preferred
  • Experience leading Logistics cost reduction or continuous improvement projects preferred

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain Business Engineering or related area.
