Job Description

OVERVIEW

Vertex Resources Services Inc. accepts applications for aGeotechnical and CMT Laboratory Technician to work out of Conroe Texas. The successful candidate would perform laboratory testing on Geotechnical and CMT Services (e.g. soils aggregates concrete asphalt and masonry). Communicate with the project manager field technicians lab supervisor and others as applicable regarding the construction site project requirements and testing results. Tabulate prepare and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Project Manager. Maintain clean equipment and work areas.


CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 2 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience. (Preferred)
  • Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • ACI certification in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
  • Concrete Strength Testing Technician
  • Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
  • Clean Background Check
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Valid drivers license with acceptable violation history
  • Willing and able to travel


PREFERRED CERTIFICATION

  • Certifications in one or more of the following areas:
  • NICET Level I certification in Construction Materials Testing in one or more of the following categories: Asphalt Concrete Soils.
  • TXDOT SB 101
  • ICC certification in one or more of the following categories: Reinforced Concrete Sprayapplied Fireproofing Structural Masonry Prestressed/PostTensioned Concrete Structural Steel Bolting Structural Steel Welding.
  • Other national regional state and local Materialsrelated certifications requiring experience and written examination will also be considered if deemed appropriate by the Director Engineering & Material Testing.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs laboratory testing following training and the specified procedures and standards.
  • Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
  • Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
  • Communicates information to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM.
  • Maintains assigned equipment and related calibration.
  • Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Perform other duties as needed


LOCATION


This position will be based out of Conroe Texas however the majority of the work will be out of town.
