Whats this role about
As our Payroll Accountant reporting to the Payroll Manager youll help the finance team with the ongoing administration of the Auvik payroll and accounting processes.
What will I be doing
- Payroll Processing: Administer semimonthly payroll for Canada and the U.S. as well as monthly payroll for international locations.
- Employee Support: Act as the primary point of contact for all payrollrelated inquiries.
- Data Management: Maintain and update payroll incentive and equity system records.
- Reconciliations: Conduct routine payroll and benefits reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Payroll Administration: Support the Payroll Manager with all areas of payroll administration including: monthend processes incentive calculations stock option management and common share administration.
- Accounting & Reporting: Perform daily payroll accounting tasks including posting general ledger entries calculating stock compensation expenses and managing fixed asset amortization.
- MonthEnd Close: Prepare journal entries accruals and reconciliations while assisting with cost analysis.
- YearEnd Compliance: Assist with payroll yearend processes including tax form preparation reconciliation and balancing.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to enhance payroll and accounting workflows.
- Audit Support: Assist with annual audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Contribute to special projects as needed.
What are we looking for
- 35 years of Canadian payroll experience (U.S. and international payroll experience is a plus).
- Postsecondary degree in accounting finance business administration or a related field.
- Handson experience in corporate accounting ideally in a multientity environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems (Ceridian Dayforce preferred).
- Strong time management problemsolving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing.
- Capable of working independently and within crossfunctional teams managing multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification or actively working toward it.

We have defined job levels and compensation ranges for each of our markets we employ based on research from various sources of market data which are reviewed on a regular basis.
The hiring range for this position is listed below. Compensation offered for candidates in this role is based on a number of factors including jobrelated skills knowledge and experience. These factors may cause your compensation to vary within the range outlined below.
In addition to cash compensation all fulltime employees are granted stock options to share in Auviks future successes.
