Education: Completion of an approved LPN program and successfully completion the NCLEXPN.
License and Certifications: Must have a current NV LPN License prior to hire. American Heart Association BLS (or CPR program) upon hire. IV Certification preferred.
Experience: A minimum of one 1 year working in an acute hospital setting preferred.

Position Summary: Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is looking for a per diem or as needed Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist in our Med Surg department. Patients range from geriatric to neonatal. Incumbent will predominately working various open 12hours shifts. Scheduling will change based on the needs of the department.
Primary responsibilities include providing direct and individualized care to patients alongside the Registered Nurse to include but not limited to:
Administers medications or starts intravenous fluids noting times and amounts on patients charts.
Observes patients charting and reporting changes in conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and takes necessary actions.
Answers patients calls and determines how to assist them.
Measures and records patients vital signs such as height weight temperature blood pressure pulse and respiration.
Provides basic patient care or treatments such as taking temperatures or blood pressures dressing wounds treating bedsores giving enemas or s rubbing with alcohol massaging or performing catheterizations.
Works as part of a health care team to assess patient needs plans and modifies care and implements interventions.
Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes conferring with other health care team members.
Assembles and uses equipment such as catheters tracheotomy tubes or oxygen suppliers.
Records food and fluid intake and output.
