Job Description

The Nurse Educator is responsible in collaboration with Program Leadership for assessment implementation planning evaluation and supportive application of existing and new clinical knowledge and the translation of knowledge to practice.

Contribute to safe quality care by

What must you have

  • Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RN or RN (EC) in good
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing is
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life
  • Coronary Care 1 and Coronary Care 2 certifications.
  • Minimum five years of relevant and recent inpatient and outpatient cardiac experience is
  • Recent clinical experience in a Cath Lab or equivalent setting an asset.
  • Electrophysiology experience an asset.

  • Computer literacy in a Windows environment utilizing Word Excel PowerPoint and
  • Skill in using empathy in interactions with
  • Proven attendance
  • Models an understanding of patient and staff safety policies and procedures to foster a safe and inclusive environment for
  • Ability to adapt to a fastchanging and stressful environment in a positive manner.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education within the past two 2 years.
  • Demonstrated effective ability in: interpersonal relationships; oral and written communication skills; organization skills; priority setting skills; problem solving; decision making; facilitating team work; conflict resolution.
  • Ability to function independently and as a part of the multidisciplinary team.

Preferably your profile also includes:

  • Certification from the Canadian Nurses Association Cardiovascular Speciality.
  • Masters Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or another organization
  • Relevant and recent experience as a clinical nurse educator in an acute medicine and critical care setting
