36Summary:
The NICU Physical Therapist evaluates and provides direct patient care for babies in the NICU with the following disorders: neurological musculoskeletal genetic neuromuscular respiratory pain and developmental as well as traumatic injuries burn/wound management and those at risk for developmental delay secondary to severe prematurity. This person provides consultation and programming including patient and caregiver education. This person is responsible for overseeing developmental care of all babies in the NICU staff and family education/training referrals and consultations to outside agencies documentation participation in weekly NICU rounds facilitating and planning the Developmental Care Committee and computer input of all charges. The Physical Therapist will deliver care with a teamorientation an emphasis on good customer relations sound clinical judgment and appropriate decisionmaking abilities that take into consideration evidenced based practice.
