Job Vacancy: Senior Contract Administrator

Location: Cape Town or Gqeberha (travel to project sites as required)

Company Overview:Our client is a leading company in the renewable energy sector dedicated to driving sustainable energy solutions for a better future. As part of their dynamic team you will play a crucial role in overseeing contractual aspects of our projects ensuring successful from inception to completion.

Position Overview:Our client is seeking a Senior Contract Administrator to join their team. Reporting directly to the Construction Contracts Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the contractual elements of projects during the Engineering Procurement Construction and Commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer project contracts and documents ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify contractual risks bringing them to the attention of the Construction Contracts Manager.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of various agreements and effectively manage stakeholders in alignment with contractual requirements.
  • Draft contractual communications for review by the Construction Contract Manager and/or project team.
  • Monitor documentation preparation to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Ensure awareness of contractual obligations among relevant parties and assist in explaining contract summaries through meetings.
  • Promptly notify stakeholders of all claims and potential disputes and assist in compiling necessary information/data to defend the employers position.
  • Process documentation and change protocols associated with Contractors variations and claims.
  • Assist in preparing and issuing passthrough claims regarding project documents.
  • Draft position papers regarding claims and variations for review by the Contract Manager.
  • Actively participate in internal and external meetings.
  • Maintain uptodate registers for various matters including bonds contracts variations and claims.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in the built environment/engineering and/or construction law preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working with large complex projects in the Energy industry preferably in the REIPPPP.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in all facets of Contract Administration and Management within a largescale project.
  • Ability to understand and analyze details of noncontractual matters such as engineering cost control planning and construction to provide relevant contractual support.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook Word and PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of scheduling/planning principles.
