Position Summary:
The Assistant Site Director supports the Site Director in managing a child development program by overseeing daily operations staff parent communication and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role focuses on maintaining a safe effective and nurturing environment that promotes growth for children staff and families.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Communication with Parents:
- Assist in maintaining open communication with parents including scheduling and facilitating meetings assisting with concerns and collaborating on child development needs.
- Support the recruitment and enrollment process for new parents including managing documentation and fees.
- Help organize and conduct parent workshops conferences and home visits as needed.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Assist the Site Director in maintaining center inventory and overseeing supply orders for food maintenance and classrooms.
- Support in monitoring and documenting childrens attendance and ensuring proper documentation of petty cash receipts and check requests.
- Ensure that classroom and administrative records are uptodate and compliant with program expectations.
Center Operations:
- Monitor and assist in the staffing schedule to ensure smooth operations of the center.
- Help ensure that the center and classrooms comply with city state regulations and NAEYC standards.
- Support the Site Director in managing center safety emergency procedures and addressing maintenance concerns.
Staff Supervision and Support:
- Assist in conducting staff meetings and individual supervision meetings to address concerns and foster teamwork.
- Observe classrooms to ensure compliance with curriculum paperwork and regulations.
- Support staff performance evaluations and professional development.
- Assist in tracking timesheets vacation requests and compensatory time for staff.
Assess Children:
- Support in administering child screenings and ensuring completion of required assessments (e.g. ESIR My Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum Ages and Stages).
Administrative Support:
- Work closely with the Site Director and other content area specialists to coordinate activities meetings and committees.
- Assist with coordinating meetings and collaborating with mental health consultants disability teams and external resources.
- Ensure timely submission of reports and documentation as required by the program.
Community Relations:
- Assist in fostering relationships with local agencies and community partners and maintain communication to ensure resources are available to families.
- Support the Site Director in contacting state and city representatives as needed.
Teaching & Curriculum Support:
- Step into teaching and lead documentation responsibilities in the absence of the Site Director or during staff vacancies.
- Support coordination of field trips and ensure educational activities meet the standards set by the program.

Job Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university or related field with a minimum of 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education.
- Gateways ECE credential Level 5
- Gateways Directors credential Level 1
