Job Description

SIFMA is seeking an individual who has a passion for retirement policy to join our team. The Assistant Vice President or Senior Associate Retirement and Tax Policy will focus on financial regulatory and legislative issues relating to retirement. This position reports to the Managing Director Head of Wealth Management Retirement and State Government Relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate expertise in retirement legislative or regulatory issues.
  • Analyze legislative and regulatory initiatives from the Capitol Hill Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service among others and conduct research and analysis to support the development of industry positions on challenging regulatory issues.
  • Engage with policymakers to advance the industrys positions on various retirement and tax policy issues.
  • Organize and facilitate working group calls and inperson meetings to spearhead industry advocacy and compliance efforts on various retirement workstreams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree preferably in retirement business public policy or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Capitol Hill and public policy areas.
  • Analytic skills necessary to understand the legal and regulatory issues affecting the financial industry and the development of the capital markets.
  • Excellent organizational project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for business and advocacy purposes.
  • Ability to effectively guide and influence leadership and key constituents while also being hands on with daytoday .

Salary range: $95000 $115000
