Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction and in reading writing and speaking common English vocabulary AND 6 months training or 6 months experience in maintenance repair work (e.g. basic electricity plumbing carpentry masonry repair and use of associated hand and power tools and equipment); Director Of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class and therefore exempt from written examination. Valid commercial drivers license required if motor equipment is of type and size regulated by sections 4506.01 and 4506.12 of Ohio revised code.

Maintenance Repair Worker 2 Position Overview:
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities is seeking a Maintenance Repair Worker 2 to join our Facilities team. In this role you will play a key role in maintaining a safe accessible and comfortable environment for our offices and contribute to maximizing the functionality of our office spaces through maintenance repair and renovation work. From installing and configuring modular office systems to performing minor repairs and maintenance on furniture fixtures and equipment youll develop a versatile skill set and gain handson experience in a diverse range of tasks.
Daytime travel within Ohio may be required. The selected candidate must have a valid drivers license.
Maintenance Repair Worker 2 Duties:
- Build and maintain office spaces ensuring adherence to ADA accessibility standards
- Install move and configure modular office systems (cubicles wall partitions) and office furniture (desks tables filing cabinets) according to space plans
- Read and interpret blueprints drawings and specifications
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance including minor installations and repairs
- Conduct regular site visits to identify and address potential maintenance issues in workspaces and facilities
- Collaborate with facility management staff to assess space and facility needs determine the best use of materials and identify locations for installations.
- Collaborate with IT staff on technology needs and requirements
- Respond to digital service requests
- Assist with inventory management
- Utilize equipment such as forklifts handcarts and pallet jacks
A Successful Maintenance Repair Worker 2 Has:
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance and project coordination
- Strong knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to maintenance work
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with customers staff contractors and property management
- Proficiency in using office software such as Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to perform numerical calculations and solve problems related to maintenance tasks
Facilities Unit Overview:
The Facilities Unit oversees office space maintenance office openings and closures as well as relocations reconfigurations and space reductions fleet management including the agencys Mobile Services Unit inventory security offsite records management lease management and is the Central Office front door reception and front desk concierge.
