Job Description
The Basilica School of Saint Mary in Alexandria VA is hiring an Extended Day Sports Instructor for our afterschool Extended Day Program for theschool year. This parttime role is ideal for someone passionate about youth development and providing a safe engaging space for K5 students.
Schedule:
Monday Friday between 3:00 pm and 6: 00 pm with flexible days available
Job Summary:
The Sports Instructor is responsible for planning and leading an engaging supportive Extended Day group for K5 youth. This role includes organizing educational exercises recreational activities and teambuilding exercises
Key Responsibilities:
Design and lead learning recreational and sports activities for students
Direct and collaborate with other staff
Complete required documentation.
Participate in ongoing training and staff development.
Prepare and submit sequenced lesson plans.
Use effective classroom management skills to ensure a safe supportive environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support program goals.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.
High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework is preferred.
Experience working with youth.
Ability to lead group sports and recreation activities.
Experience developing lesson plans or integrated learning projects.
Strong commitment to a strengthbased youthdevelopment approach.
Must complete required VDOE and VDSS clearances.
