About the Team:
Our Technology team drives the evolution of our Technology Engineering Data Product and User Experience functions. From revolutionizing visuals to optimizing tools and harnessing the power of data mobile video and social platforms our team is committed to providing a seamless and immersive experience across all touchpoints. Collaborating closely with our newsrooms and strategic partners we spearhead the development of groundbreaking products and technologies.
About the Role:
The B2C Analytics team focuses on developing analytics solutions to help the organization make better data driven decisions. Our team is passionate about enabling others to use data and analysis to measure and monitor performance identify risks and opportunities and find ways to continually add value.
You will primarily support the Consumer side of the business which includes WSJ Barrons MarketWatch and more; but may also include exposure to other areas of the business such as advertising and the professional information business. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in developing datasets dashboards and data solutions that drive core insights. You will report to the Senior Manager B2C Analytics.
You Will:
Develop Stakeholder Partnerships
- Develop strong partnerships with Product Marketing Newsroom Finance Data Collection Data Engineering and other B2C Stakeholder Business teams and work across all levels and areas of the organization.
- Executie data project roadmaps based on Business teams priorities.
Understand B2C Data
- Build a deep understanding of all the B2C data sources that we leverage in our Analysis projects
- Partner with data engineers and data collection colleagues to collect cleanse and organize data.
Conduct Analysis Create Dashboards Improve Processes & Ensure Quality
- Analyze large datasets to surface trends and deliver recommendations with tangible business outcomes.
- Create intuitive reports dashboards and data solutions using visualization tools (e.g. Tableau Looker Studio)
- Continuously identify ways to improve and streamline processes around data and reporting
- Ensure the quality of data and reporting and partner with teams to improve accuracy and consistency
Clearly Communicate
- Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences
You Have:
- Team oriented and collaborative with eagerness to help others and aspiration to be challenged and learn
- Self starter able to work independently coordinate with multiple partners and complete projects start to finish
- Detail oriented with focus on assuring quality consistency and accuracy in data and processes
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent in combination of training and experience preferably in a quantitative field such as Data Science Statistics Mathematics or related disciplines.
- Experience working with large datasets in a fastpaced and fluid environment with the ability to understand and solve complex nonroutine problems.
- Experience with SQL and strong knowledge of Excel/Sheets required. Familiarity with Github Python/R preferred.
- Experience with web analytics tools (particularly Google Analytics 4 and Adobe Analytics) is a plus.
- Experience with data visualizations tools and techniques and using data to tell a story (e.g. Tableau Looker)
