GEOGeophysical Operations
The Geophysical Operations Job Family maintains the capabilities for the design planning and of the Corporations seismic data and shallow seabed acquisition programs. The four subdisciplines of Geophysical Operations are 1 Data Analysis / Survey Design 2 Geophysical Field Supervision 3 Operations Integrity / SSH&E and 4 Geophysical Operations Research. The Geophysical Operations Specialist works with a multifunctional team in Exploration Development Production and / or Research to develop data acquisition programs that will allow business units to reach evaluate and complete their geologic objectives in a safe economical and environmentally sound manner.
Job Role Summary
- The early capability geophysical operations geoscientist (ECGOG) is a member of a team responsible for designing and executing a geophysical data acquisition survey is responsible for the survey design data analysis field supervision and/or OIMS/SSH;amp&E for the data acquisition survey and works with the GeOps team to ensure these elements are aligned with the Integrated Project Teams objectives. Guidance is provided by a mentor and the GeOps Specialist builds individual capabilities to enable increasingly independent contribution. The Specialist becomes familiar with all the roles on the GeOps team and mentors the Integrated Project Team members on the data acquisition input.
- Work quality and quantity demonstrating leadership and mentoring activities are performance dimensions that are expected to expand in scope and breadth through time. Upon completion of the ECM the expectation is that the ECGOG should have the skills capabilities and knowledge required to contribute independently to assignments irrespective of business stage.
- Skills required include the ten fundamental skills listed below (mostly Level 1 and a basic understanding of internal upstream business terminology processes and systems. This knowledge will be obtained through a combination of onthejob experience and basic training. Job Role Responsibilities
- Member of a team responsible for designing & executing a geophysical data acquisition survey
- Survey design data analysis field supervision and/or OIMS/SSH&E for the data acquisition survey
- Works with the GeOps team to ensure alignment with the Integrated Project Teams objectives
- Builds familiarity with all the roles on the GeOps team
- Application of their fundamental knowledge & capability on geophysical data acquisition to the research project
- There may be involvement in creating tools or workflows for data acquisition purposes
- The Specialist mentors the Integrated Project Team members on the data acquisition input
- Primary technical responsibilities depend on job location E/D/P/R &/or asset stage
- Deliver products that address the business need & are delivered on schedule
