The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is looking for a Flight Test Radio Technician to join our team in Seattle WA. As a Radio Services Technician you will support flight testing with a variety of services including HF/VHF/UHF Microwave GPS (Global Positioning System) Wind Stations Landing Navigation systems and Satellite systems. You may be called upon to perform research/ordering of equipment installation/testing of radios software development/testing or to directly support flight tests by operating test support equipment in the field.
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills good problemsolving skills and the ability to work in a team environment. They will be adaptable and learn new skills quickly.
This position may require up to 30 travel both domestically and internationally and this position is a nonflying position supporting flight testing.
Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate or MidLevel Flight Test Radio Technicians.
Position Responsibilities:
Operate maintain and troubleshoot VHF UHF and HF radio equipment and antenna systems
Operate maintain and troubleshoot audio and video distribution equipment (analog and digital)
Operate maintain and troubleshoot telemetry and data systems
Operate maintain and troubleshoot Wind Station GBAS PGBAS TCAS Hardware
Travel to remote locations to do all of the above
Stay knowledgeable and current in the field
Support weekend work
Support shortterm travel domestic and international
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1 years of experience working in a laboratory and/or test environment
Ability to obtain an FCC General Radiotelephone Operators License (GROL)
Valid drivers license
Able to lift up to 35lbs
Strong and clear communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 3: 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Associate degree or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering
Have an active FCC General Radiotelephone Operators License (GROL)
Experience with fundamental radio design and operation
Experience with radio equipment (VHF UHF and HF)
Experience with broadcasting and receiving signals over satellite systems
Experience with pointtopoint data connections over IP networks
Experience with field operations on airports
