RATE OF PAY/SALARY: $19.00 $23.00 per hour
WORK LOCATION(S): Newburgh NY 12550

Description of Duties:
The MA will provide quality patient care in the department within their scope of practice as directed by the supervising Registered/Practical Nurse.
Under the supervision of the Lead Nurse:
- Perform screening procedures and documentation in accordance with Cornerstone policies and procedures.
- Identify potential patient problems alert the RN or Provider.
- Participate in Cornerstones Care Team Model
- Participate in PreVisit Planning (see PreVisit Planning Policy).
- Participate in care team huddles/communication.
- Assist with population management activities for assigned patient panel.
- Direct and participate in quality improvement activities within the care team and department.
- Refer phone and walkin triage to Registered Nurse or Physician.
- Strictly adhere to safe nursing practices including but not limited to Infection Control National Patient Safety Goals and Waived Testing set forth by CORNERSTONE policy and in compliance with Joint Commission and OSHA.
- Assist providers with inoffice procedures and exams as needed.
- Perform hearing and vision screenings on children and adults.
- Responsible for performing the following actions: EKGs all POCT included but not limited to: Rapid HIV Rapid HEP C Rapid Influenza Urine Dip (UA HCG) Fingerstick (Hemoglobin Lead Glucose HbA1c PT/INR).
- Strictly adhere to safe practice guidelines including but not limited to Infection Control National Patient Safety Goals and Waived Testing set forth by CORNERSTONE policy and in compliance with Joint Commission and OSHA.
- Float to other departments as needed. Maintain a clean and safe environment for the patient.
- Make recommendations to supervisors for the improvement of health care for all patients.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all clinical administrative and general policies and procedures as outlined in the CORNERSTONE Policy and Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook.
- Attend and participate in monthly department All Staff and other required meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of CORNERSTONE including but not limited to patient confidentiality financials and employee relations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant with school diploma (i.e. Associates Degree) or Medical Assistant without certifications/diploma but with at least one year of on the job experience
- Current BLS Certificate
- Bilingual Fluent in Spanish
- Must be willing and able to travel
This position is one evening per week and one weekend per month. The ability and need to travel to any of our sites is a requirement.
