Quality Technician Hrly
Position Summary: Perform inspections and conduct audits to ensure that parts meet quality specifications and that processes are being followed in accordance with the quality management system.
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintains a safe work environment and complies with all EHS policies and procedures.
- Maintains conformance to IATF 16949 quality management standards.
- Perform basic quality inspections using CMM gauges and other devices or equipment.
- Perform incoming inspections inprocess inspections dock audits process audit and create quality alerts.
- Maintain traceability of parts by serial number by using bar code scanning equipment.
- Initiate perform and manage sorts s material processing and production set ups.
- Maintain accurate records for poke yoke checks process audits dock audits sort check list and Defective Material Notices to supply base.
- Work closely with Process Quality Engineers (PQE) Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) suppliers and coworkers for component quality improvements and root cause analysis.
- Troubleshoot and support the proper maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment.
- Strictly adheres to and supports company policies safety regulations quality processes and 5S initiatives.
- Understand and comply with IATF 16949 requirements.
- Performs special projects as requested and related tasks as needed.
- Must be flexible with work schedule and work assignments.
- Communicate issues between shifts and escalates to leadership as necessary.
Skills and Experience
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Working knowledge as a Quality Technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Thorough understanding of GD&T principles and applications.
- Working knowledge of reading engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Working knowledge of measurement gauges including calipers micrometers torque wrenches etc.
- Working knowledge of CMM operations and interpreting results.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- English competency (reading writing & speaking).
Preferred Skills and experience:
- IATF 16949/ISO14001/ISO9001 system familiarity.
- AIAG Core Tools Awareness.
- Automotive industry experience.
- Understanding of Lean practices.
- SAP experience.
- Powered industrial vehicle operations
