What Youll Do
As the Test Engineering Technician at Enstall you will be supporting the Product Development & Innovation Team and working collaboratively within the Testing and Certification Team. Some of your core responsibilities will include lab management and product testing to support the qualification of new products to assess longterm performance in harsh outdoor environments as well as to comply with various industry standards.
- Manage lab organization maintenance cleanliness and safety
- Run mechanical electrical and environmental tests and write concise test reports
- Use and maintain testing equipment including environmental chambers tensile testers load cells power supplies and other measuring/data acquisition/testing equipment
- Fabricate and assemble customdesigned test equipment and fixtures
- Support product testing certification and module compatibility testing efforts
- Occasional field work to include installation and testing of PV modules arrays and electrical systems
What Youll Bring
- 5 years of experience in a lab or shop environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a dynamic team environment to think creatively and take on traditional problems in new and better ways
- Excellent project management aptitude
- Construction and fabrication experience
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Fluent with Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel as much as 25 of your time
- Product Testing experience in solar or related industries a plus
- Familiarity with roofing systems design waterproofing and reliability testing a plus
- Expertise in solar electrical grounding/bonding a plus
- In depth knowledge of residential and commercial solar racking solutions a plus
- Knowledge in test equipment programming automation and data acquisition a plus
Where Youll Be Located
This position will be based in Hayward CA.
What Well Offer
We offer competitive compensation determined by each individuals relevant experience skills education and location. We anticipate the base salary for this position to be between $65000 and $75000 annually if located in the San Francisco Bay Area market. In addition to base salary Enstall employees are eligible for either an annual bonus or commission depending on their position. If your desired salary falls outside of these rates we hope youll still apply as there may be other positions that better align.
