MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Matric
  • Diploma/Degree inAgriculture Supply Chain or Logistics
  • Alternate Tertiary Qualification relevant to theFruit & VegetableIndustry
  • Minimum of5 10years relevant experience within a similar role as a Buyer in Retail / Fruit & Veg
  • Relevant experience within the Fruit & Vegetable industry ESSENTIAL i.e. Buying Quality Management Stock Control & Warehousing
  • Must have contactable references & solid work history
  • Must possess strong numeracy literacy and organisational skills coupled with excellent interpersonal skills on all levels
  • Proficient on all MS Office packages
  • Proficient on SAP Advantageous
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Exceptional negotiating abilities
  • Must have a Drivers Licence ESSENTIAL
  • Must have own reliable vehicle / Transport

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

Key Performance Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Implement Growing Programmes to relevant farmers
  • Procurement Buying Selecting and sourcing of Suppliers
  • Data management Products contracts and prices
  • Ensuring personal safety and safe working environment
  • Communicating needs and objectives to key personnel in logistics and distribution
  • Negotiating contracts and product pricing to reduce costs and achieve maximum efficiency
  • Negotiate with local and global suppliers on prices
  • Maintaining relationship with suppliers
  • Ensure quality control on all imports
  • Checking upon chemical residue
  • Ensured distribution of all fresh produce
  • Checked daily duties of the quality controller receiving clerk junior buyer and buyers assistant.
  • Assisting with HR & IR duties in the company
  • Monitoring staffs working performance example pickers despatch manager logistics manager and general assistance. / 60 staff members)
  • Managing Packhouse
