The Job Details are as follows:

The Senior Product Manager is the product owner and has responsibility for product strategy prioritizing product development and tactical of the product roadmaps. The SPM also collaborates with the sales marketing and implementation teams as needed to ensure business success and customer satisfaction for the products.

As product owner you will be responsible for all aspects of product planning development and gotomarket. This role works collaboratively with the product marketing team finance and sales for product release and promotional efforts.

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Planning:

  • Be the strategy leader. Oversee market analysis and develop product strategy and business cases. Define strategic product goals based on market member and user needs and overall strategic goals.

  • Represent the enduser. Be the champion of the enduser and our member libraries. Bring the voice of the customer into the product creation process.

  • Provide leadership in OCLCs crossfunctional product workgroups. Work with product managers from other groups to understand needs from their portfolios and how to prioritize those needs against each other. Help resolve conflicts and drive consensus.

Leadership and Management:

  • Facilitate collaboration and communication and secure commitment between development team product management and other divisional workgroups towards achievement of common goals.

  • Measure success. Own the measures used to define success for your product. Make measures visible to all stakeholders and interpret them into actionable conclusions and product goals.

  • Experienced with owning large crossfunctional and complex data and/or early stage software development projects.

Product Marketing Oversight and Consultation:

  • Assist in the development of strategies for customer acquisition and retention; manage relationships with user groups and assist sales team in generation of marketing and awareness plans.

  • Know the market. Understand how and when to commission market research to develop and maintain expertise in markets served alternative services new technology and related standards. Adjust product plan as new market facts are discovered.

  • Support the sales team through training assistance with significant sales calls and presentations. Facilitates clear communication of product positioning and key value propositions.

  • Leads gotomarket strategies meetings and coordination.

Consultation on Portfolio Planning:

  • Provides input into portfolio business plans roadmaps strategies metrics and progress reports and reviews.

Mentoring/Support for Product Managers:

  • Serves as mentor and support as needed for less experienced Product Managers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

  • 6 to 8 years experience in product project or program management

  • Entrepreneurial attitude team player leadership skills and selfconfidence

  • Well developed communication and presentation skills and demonstrated experience in presenting information at a senior management level

  • Demonstrated ability to lead crossfunctional team environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Demonstrated understanding of a Product Management Lifecycle model

  • Demonstrated ability with Financial planning and financial forecasting

  • Extensive understanding of technical capabilities and market requirements needed to develop innovative market plans

  • Strong customer relationship skills

Desired:

  • Masters degree

  • 4 to 6 years experience in library services or library management systems

  • 4 to 6 years experience in supporting online/database services preferably in the library field

  • A broad knowledge of library markets information professionals and relevant technologies.

  • Experience taking at least one product from conception to market launch

This position requires travel to customer and noncustomer sites 15.

Working Conditions:Normal office environment.
