Position Overview:

The Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor is responsible for the daytoday activities of directing controlling and coordinating as well as performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on equipment machinery buildings and utility systems. This individual will report directly to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Supports plant facilities and equipment maintenance
  • Maintains a collaborative relationship with all other departments
  • Performs facility maintenance activities
  • Able to perform carpentry work on a project basis
  • Assists in maintaining the grounds (Clean up Snow removal wall repair Painting etc.
  • Remains aware and trained on all technical advancements in his or her area of responsibility
  • Assists in directing vendors and mechanics with expertise in equipment
  • Ensures that equipment is maintained and operational per company standards
  • Proactively suggests improvements in enhanced levels of safety and efficiency
  • Ensures repairs needed on machinery and equipment are reported in a timely manner
  • Completes department level projects as assigned
  • Manages with integrity while upholding ethical standards of the organization
  • Facilitates external and internal communication in order to achieve company goals
  • Facilitates a safe and clean work environment
  • Works quickly and efficiently to meet department and company goals while adhering to all company safety and health policies
  • Completes documentation required of the Maintenance performed (Monthly Facilities Checklist SPCC checklist etc.
  • Ability to be trained and operate lifting equipment (Forklifts scissor lifts etc.
  • Ability to organize and execute projects from beginning to end
  • Assists in the ordering organizing and inventorying of maintenance supplies
  • Perform specialized cleaning and organizing of areas
  • Assists with preventive and corrective maintenance as needed
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting and summarizing information
  • Must demonstrate competency in all aspects of the job and company objectives such as company policies rules and trainings
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Characteristics:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Associates degree or trade program preferred and 5 years of related work experience; a combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Quality Management System ISOindustry experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a team
  • PM (preventative maintenance) knowledge preferred
  • Experience with OSHA regulations as applicable to the department preferred
  • Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Candidate must pass a preemployment physical background and credit check
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions such as extreme heat or cold dusty dirty and/or wet conditions
  • Able to fulfill flexible scheduling requirements as determined by the manager and / or business needs of the operation
