Job Description
The Department of English and Foreign Languages requests consideration for posting and filling a FT faculty member position on a temporary basis for one year to begin in August 2024 and to conclude in May of 2025.
Requirements:
- This position will serve a large student population at Norfolk State University and encompasses the teaching of General Education courses and disciplinespecific courses that are supportable by faculty credentials.
- The role requires office hours and engaging students for campus assessment activities such as the HEIGHTEN Test and QEP.
- Use of Blackboard the Learning Management System for Norfolk State University is required.
- This position will also require one submission between Fall and Spring semesters of a small portfolio of supporting documents about classroom content and techniques.
Preferred Requirements:
- Ph.D. in English English Studies American Studies or closely related field is preferred.
- Applicants are encouraged to indicate their interest in using literature in the composition classroom on their applications.
