Engages in patient care in the Clinic and Hospital setting using specialized knowledge judgment and skills to provide ante partum intrapartum postpartum and gynecologic care to essentially normal women. Conducts clinic office visits and / or telephone visits including history taking assessment and physician examination identification of potential problems risk factors complications and / or emergencies. Works interdependently with a supervisory physician / physicians with whom they consult and to whom they refer patients who develop complications requiring a physicians care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Licenses and Certifications Required
Current ND Board of Nursing APRN license identifying practitioner as a Certified Nurse Midwife required.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification strongly preferred.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification strongly preferred.
Educational Requirements
Education as necessary to obtain and keep current ND CNM license.
Experience Requirements
Extensive knowledge of established professional nursing and CNM concepts principals and practices required.
CPT coding knowledge preferred.
Experience as licensed CNM preferred.
Special Skills or Training Requirements
Skills and training as necessary to obtain ND APRN CNM licensure.
