Job Description

IMC is currently hiring aNurse Practitioner (NP) or Physicians Assistant(PA)Physicians Practice Clinic Family Medicineunder the immediate supervision of thePhysician Practice Manager and with the authority of theChief Nursing Officer the Physician Assistant renders safe nursing care topatients. The NP supervises directs and monitors the nursing care assigned toher/him. The NP must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to providecare based on physical psycho/social education safety and related criteriafor the pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric population.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Two plus years of FAMILY MEDICINE experience required
WORK HOURS:
- Fulltime 40 hours per week
EDUCATION:
- Graduate of state approved NP/PA school.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
- Current Louisiana NP/PA license required.
- CPR certification must be obtained prior to completion of orientation.
PRINCIPLETASKS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstratesrespect for patients and families
- Maintainsand protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care.
- Appliesthe nursing process to each patient and implements nursing actions.
- Identifiespatient and family education needs and in collaboration with other with otherdisciplines initiates education needs according to the age of the patient.
- Participatesin planning of patient discharge needs and readiness for discharge.
- Functionsas a positive role model for peers and promotes a professional image of IberiaMedical Center.
