Job Description
Department of Reading & Language Arts is looking for Part time faculty to teach RED 326/625 Literacy Across the Curriculum.4 credits) Language acquisition and literacy development for diverse learners. Instructional approaches materials and assessment techniques to foster reading writing speaking and listening for thinking and communicating. Includes minimum 25hour field placement. Adolescence and special subject preparation programs. Additional work required of graduate students.

Responsibilities
Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date. Preparation of lectures projects or other student assignments. Meeting all designated class periods. If you are unable to to meet your class due to illness or emergency you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute. You must also notify the department chair of your absence and of your plan to cover the class. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours. Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner. Participate in student recitals or showings. Collect and submit student assessment data for accreditation purposes if applicable. Submitting completed midsemester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations. Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations. Providing an updated CV annually or upon request of the department or school. Participating in departmental meetings or workshops. Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
