Overview

The Crisis Program Supervisoris responsible for the daily operations of the program including supervision of counselors staffing and scheduling and upholding high standards of work with children and families. The Crisis Program Supervisoris a strong role model for implementing Senecas model in direct care work with children.

Monterey County Crisis Programs

Senecas Monterey County Crisis Programs provide crisis stabilization services and shortterm residential treatment for children and youth experiencing crises ensuring timely support when its most needed. This innovative way of addressing a mental health emergency provides a safe supportive and welcoming environment for children and youth. Upon enrollment in the programs the Seneca teams work with the youth and support networks to assess the needs and strengths of the youth in order to develop the foundation goals that will drive treatment. Comprehensive services include timely mental health assessments crisis counseling and linkage to longterm sustainable support based on each clients unique strengths and needs. The ultimate goal is to provide mental health/crisis services suicide prevention decrease in placement changes and reduction of unnecessary psychiatric hospitalization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision (individual and group supervision) support and training to counselors.
  • Nurture and sustain a positive team culture that centers values of antiracism and antioppression.
  • Perform the following personnel functions: interviewing hiring supervision training and evaluation.
  • Lead and participate in the review of policies practices and data through a lens of antiracism to ensure equitable outcomes for youth and families and equitable opportunities for staff.
  • Develop and manage shift schedules to ensure adequate daytoday staffing for he safe and effective operation of the center.
  • Remain knowledgeable of all clients and ensure appropriate safety planning for all.
  • Respond to crises and provide consultation as needed.
  • Understand the terms and conditions of program contract and implement strategies for tracking and reporting all required data.
  • Review provide feedback and approve documentation of supervisees to ensure compliance and expected billing.
  • Participate in weekly supervision with the Assistant Director and weekly managers meetings.
  • Coordinate with the management team to plan ongoing staff training as well as interview hire and retain staff.
  • Participate fully in sitewide initiatives projects and plans.
  • Provide oncall response as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience Requirements:
    • Masters degree in social work or a related subject area and 1 year of supervisory experience OR
    • Bachelors degree and 3 years of experience providing direct services to clients.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • TB test clearance fingerprinting clearance and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Valid drivers license clean driving record and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies insurance policy.
  • Proof of uptodate COVID19 vaccination.

SKILLS OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong writing organizational presentation and computer skills.
  • Ability to work as part of and facilitatethe development of a multidisciplinary team.
