Senior Architect Minimum Qualifications: - Licensed Architect with 15 years experience.
- 5 years experience as a Project Manager and/or Project Architect.
- Excellent problem solving communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced subject matter knowledge of the following:
- Building envelope system design and material selection
- ADA Compliance
- Space planning
- Concept design
- Discipline coordination / Design Critical path prioritization
- Contract document creation
- Write and interpret Specifications
- Construction Administration (RFI Shop Drawings and Submittal Responses)
- Amendments and supplemental instructions
- Design narrative composition
- Proposal writing
- Field observations
- Construction Field observations and reporting
- Core understanding of the following:
- Contractual agreements Owners Contractors & Consultants
- Sustainability
- Program writing
- Studies
- RFP writing
- Deficiency tabulations
- Demonstrated sufficient subject matter technical knowledge and communication skills (oral and written) to be able to act independently during all project required phases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 2010 or higher to include at minimum Word Excel and Outlook.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit 2015 or higher Autodesk AutoCAD 2013 or higher Bluebeam or Adobe.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

- Experience on DoD or Federal design and construction projects.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Work independently on tasks assigned by Director of Architecture.
- Serve as a mentor and trainer in areas of expertise.
- Develop maintain and enforce compliance with company standards for design and operation.
- Attend continuing education and training to determine emerging technologies for company inclusion in future projects.
- Provide direction to Architects and Architectural Designers
- Represent company and department at marketing and networking events as needed
- Perform quality control reviews of departmental products
- Responsible for all aspects of generating a code and/or criteria compliant set of construction documents that satisfy the owners project requirements.
- Produce project construction documents (drawings and specifications)
- Research products materials and construction methods for their application in construction document production coordinating with manufacturers representatives as required
- Attend project planning and review meetings and site visits.
- Provide contract administration review of contractor shop drawings submittals and RFIs.
- Collaborate with owners users and other design professionals to fulfill the owners project requirements through all phases of design and construction.
- Learn relevant drafting standards from the Department of Defense National CAD Standard USACE NAVFAC VA and BIM Levels of Development (LOD)
- Learn and apply working knowledge of building codes federal criteria and industry standards for Architecture.
Additional Details: - Position is hybrid/remote and may be assigned to any of our three office locations: Montgomery or Auburn Alabama or Knoxville Tennessee. Presence required inoffice either monthly or quarterly for Core Week dependent on employees home location.
