    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. Valid Arizona Department of Education School Psychologist PreK12 Certificate
    2. Masters Degree in Psychology from accredited institution
    3. Ph.D. in Psychology preferred
    4. Three years experience as a School Psychologist preferred
    5. Knowledge skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies

    2. Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
    3. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
    4. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
    5. Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and problemsolving skills to address challenges related to special education services.
    6. Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
    7. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
    8. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures.
    9. Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff students parents and community members.
    10. Empathy patience and a genuine passion for working with students with disabilities.

    POSITION SUMMARY
    The School Psychologist serves as districtlevel special education support service which provides psychoeducational assessment and consultation of handicapped children and adolescents. A secondary function of the position is to assist the Director of Exceptional Student Services in matters pertaining to the special education of handicapped students.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Provide psychoeducational evaluation of handicapped students as well as consultation with parents and school personnel on issues relating to appropriate educational placement programming and management.
    2. Assesses difficulties of referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices.
    3. Administers tests and recommends placement for handicapped students.
    4. Helps identify psychoeducational handicapped students.
    5. Recommends corrective procedures.
    6. Assists and consults in behavioral change programs.
    7. Consults on Special Education needs of handicapped children.
    8. Attends case conferences on placement of individual students.
    9. Acts as a referral agent or consultant in the area of mental health topics.
    10. Interprets the school psychologists services to teachers and parents.
    11. Prepares and submits required reports on all students in question.
    12. Cooperates with personnel of community health and social welfare agencies.
    13. Acts as liaison between the school and juvenile court.
    14. Attends staff professional and interagency meetings.
    15. Assists with inservice training of school personnel.
    16. Keeps abreast of new developments in the field.
    17. Serves as a school liaison with community sources which provide educationallyrelated support services.
    18. Coordinates compliance with P. L. 92142 procedures and consultation regarding other regulations pertaining to Special Education.
    19. Coordinates and evaluates students at the preschool level to determine eligibility for preschool services.
    20. Participates in planning and placement of students outside of the District.
    21. Attends State Department and Agency meetings at the request of the Director.
    22. Coordinates mainstreaming efforts on a districtwide level.
    23. Makes home visits to parents of Special Education students.
    24. Attends conferences and workshops pertaining to school psychology.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to reach with hands and arms sit stand walk stoop and bend as necessary. The employee maylift carry push pull or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens and use the telephone.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Indoor school building and office environment. This position regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have substantial contact with parents students staff and the public.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
    The School Psychologists reports to the Director of Exceptional Student Services. The School Psychologist will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

    SUPPLEMENTAL:Classroom Site Fund $10000 annual or prorated based on start date!
