Job Description:
The University of Florida Health (UF Health) Pediatric Neurology division is seeking a boardcertified/
boardeligible Pediatric Neurologist with specialized training and expertise in movementdisorders. This faculty position offers an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary teamcommitted to excellence in clinical care research and education in pediatric movement disorders.
This is a nontenure accruing position. Rank will be assigned based on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive clinical care to pediatric patients with movement disorders including dystonia chorea ataxia tremors tics and other hyperkinetic or hypokinetic disorders.
  • Develop and lead specialized movement disorder clinics and programs including those involving deep brain stimulation (DBS) botulinum toxin injections and other advanced therapies.
  • Collaborate with neurosurgery physical medicine and rehabilitation genetics and other specialties to provide multidisciplinary care.
  • Engage in clinical research including investigatorinitiated and collaborative studies in movement disorders.
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring medical students residents and fellows within the Department of Pediatrics and Neurology.
  • Contribute to program development quality improvement initiatives and community outreach efforts.
  • Maintain an active role in professional organizations related to movement disorders and pediatric neurology.

UF Health Shands Childrens Hospital provides care for the children of Florida and is a major destination center for pediatric patients both nationally and internationally who require specialized attention for complex medical problems.

UF Health Shands Childrens Hospital represents the only quaternarycare academic pediatric center in North Florida. The childrens hospital has 208 beds including fullyequipped pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. UF Health Shands Childrens Hospital is part of the Childrens Miracle Networks alliance of premier hospitals for children.

The Department of Pediatrics is committed to fostering innovation and advancing discovery in the biomedical and psychosocial aspects of child health and human development educating and training pediatric scientists and directly translating basic scientific discoveries into new patientoriented therapies. In the most recent fiscal year the department was home to over $30.5M in sponsored research.

UF Health faculty work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the five other Health Science Center colleges as well as those from across the University. The focus of team efforts is often grown out of the Centers and Institutes including the Evelyn F. and William L. Expected Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Boardcertified/boardeligible in Pediatric Neurology.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Florida.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Movement Disorders preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical care research and teaching.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to patientcentered care.
