Associate Molecular Biology and Next Generation Sequencing

In this laboratorybased role you will be responsible for executing NGS experiments to advance programs in Amgens large molecule portfolio and to support displaybased protein engineering campaigns in Therapeutic Discovery. Additionally as an Associate (GCF3 you will contribute to the development of innovative NGS workflows to support highthroughput automated synthetic biology pipelines.
Protein Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our team in Thousand Oaks CA. We are a multidisciplinary team in Research with capabilities in protein engineering cloning expression purification and analysis of therapeutic proteins. The group is responsible for the engineering production assessment and final selection of large molecule drug candidates that advance to Process Development.
Follow and execute NGS library preparation protocols applying standard laboratory pipetting techniques.
Operate and maintain DNA sequencers and automated laboratory robotic systems for highthroughput NGS sample preparation and sequencing.
Organize and document laboratory data and work products sample information and sample QC metrics per laboratory protocols and in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Implement troubleshooting approaches with guidance from and in collaboration with manager and team members.
Clear and efficient communication of data and results within team.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree
OR
Associates degree with 2 years relevant experience
OR
High school diploma with 4 years relevant experience
Practical experience in molecular biology techniques (pipetting DNA sample handling and quantification) and NGS library sample preparation.
Experience in laboratory highthroughput sample organization and large volume data documentation.
Clear communicator who can work in teams to achieve excellence in fastpaced laboratory environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Troubleshooting experience in NGS library construction.
Experienced in operating DNA sequencers.
Familiarity with automated liquid handlers such as Hamilton or LabCyte ECHO systems

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant skills experience and qualifications.
