Summary
Produces ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses of heart and related structures for use by Physician in diagnosis and study of heart disease.
Education
Two years of formal training or education beyond the high school level in Cardiac Ultrasonography.
Certification Registration and Licensure
Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
Registration required to obtain: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) registry in accordance with Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) guidelines within 2 years of hire and maintained thereafter.
State licensure for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy is required.
Experience
Experience in Cardiac Ultrasonography is required will consider clinical days/time as experience minimum of 6 to 12 months
Responsibilities
Performs stress echocardiogram (STEC) exams.
Assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) exams.
Documents and maintains patient and test data.
Manages time and workload fluctuations.
Assesses patients and adapts to changing clinical situations.
Completes billing for tests performed.
Utilizes and maintains departmental and hospital equipment.
Completes departmental and hospital requirements.
Involves self in departmental team and committee goals.
Takes ownership and responsibility for individual performance goals.
Performs other duties as assigned.
