Job Description

Pediatric SpeechLanguage Pathologist
Permanent FullTime Position Start Date Negotiable


  • Permanent fulltime 37.5 hours weekly)
  • Salary range is $43.17 $52.52 per hour depending on qualifications and experience
  • RRSP share plan and benefits
  • 11 weeks vacation 7 weeks paid)
  • Employees of the Child Development Centre primarily work following the school calendar.


Excellent opportunity to join the professional team of the Child Development Centre in beautiful Whitehorse Yukon. Our growing team provides quality early intervention services to children from birth 5 years of age throughout the Yukon. You will work as part of a transdisciplinary team and will be one of seven speech language pathologists responsible for assessment consultation and intervention for children with a wide variety of needs. Travel to rural communities may be required. A relocation allowance is available.

Nestled in iconic Yukon Whitehorse is a spectacular city with room to spread out and enjoy a variety of activities such as hiking xcountry and downhill skiing mountain biking and a vast array of arts and cultural activities. Whitehorse offers English firstlanguage Frenchfirst language and French immersion schools.

With some of the cleanest air in the world yet with multiple flights to southern jurisdictions offered daily Whitehorse is more connected than you think.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology and eligibility for membership in SAC
  • Experience working in a crosscultural setting
  • Experience working with young children with developmental needs and families
  • Experience with feeding fluency and Hanen programs is an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills


This position is covered by the Public Service Alliance of Canada Collective Agreement
