About this Position

Sasha Bruce Youthwork seeks a motivated and dynamic professional to join its Team at Olaiyas Cradle a residential program for parenting young adults that have experienced homelessness. As part of Olaiyas Cradle the ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting formerly homeless parenting youth and their children. Core activities include coordinating and leading parent and twogeneration activities in a variety of areas including stress reduction parent and caregiver education and developmental milestone workshops as informed by the Parent as Teachers (PAT) curriculum and ASQ developmental screenings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead parent and twogeneration activities in a variety of areas including stress reduction parent and caregiver education and developmental milestone workshops as informed by the Parent as Teachers (PAT) curriculum and ASQ developmental screenings.
  • Recruit and enroll families for parenting programs
  • Develop social support networks for parents through mentoring and social groups
  • Provide case management support for a select cohort of clients particularly parenting minors
  • Develop and implement a strategy for utilizing a wide array of partnerships with communitybased organizations programmatic partners corporations governmental agencies and cultural institutions
  • Collect input and monitor data and develop reports or case studies
  • Utilize Sasha Bruce networks partners knowledge and volunteers to build engagement and multisector involvement to ensure the long term success of young parents.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in social work or a related field; such as counseling psychology or education.

Two years of experience working with lowincome families preferably in an urban setting

At least four years of experience working in nonprofit human services or education setting

Two or more years of experience developing carrying out and evaluating trainings workshops or other programming

Experience connecting families with community assistance resources including resources related to eviction or homelessness domestic violence drug abuse unemployment and literacy issues.

Additional qualifications include the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office and GSuite programs. Familiarity with HMIS and client record management software is also a plus.
