Job Description
What you will do
As Lead Knowledge Manager & Analyst at the Kuehne Climate Center (KCC) you will create a unique knowledge and data repository for climaterelated logistics and help expand it over the coming years. You will set up our Knowledge Hub with a team of Analysts and Researchers who will support all program lines of the KCC in research advisory training and implementation projects.
At the same time you will also bring your analytical skills to bear in organizing datasets and performing analyses do data modelling and drive scenario analyses related to our projects.
Being the leader of the Knowledge Hub you will engage with the Executive Team in formulating the Knowledge & Analytics strategy for the KCC. You will manage the Knowledge Hubs operations which includes building a topnotch research function and being the line manager to the Hubs staff.
You will also establish institutional knowledge partnerships e.g. with the Kuehne Logistics University and other domestic and international organizations to develop leading analytical capabilities and databases to support logisticsrelated climate action.
The KCC is a new subsidiary of the Khne Foundation and its mission is to accelerate climatecompatible development within and through logistics systems. We do this through applied research & thought leadership project & advisory work and training & capacity building with a focus on low and middleincome countries.
KCC is a globally operating think & do tank headquartered in Hamburgs vibrant Hafencity. From here we support all our projects actively partnering with our regional teams and with institutions from around the world.
In a small team with strong growth ambitions 4x in 4 years) you have the opportunity to shape a new institution from early on.

Youre good at
- Strategic thinking about knowledge management
- Managing big sets of information and data and organizing them for research and project users
- Analyzing complex datasets using newest analytics and AIbased tools
- Drawing conclusions from data and making factbased recommendations
- Solving analytical challenges in creative ways
- Visualizing data and transforming it into compelling stories
- Communicating with slides using easyto grasp narratives and language
- Dealing with ambiguity in a startup environment
- Building and managing teams with genuine care for the individual
You bring
- 8 years of work experience in knowledge (team) management and analytics in a research or business consulting environment
- Masters Degree in management data analytics or related relevant discipline
- Strong mastery of newest data & analytics tools including AIbased approaches needed to administer and analyze big data sets
- Experience in managing knowledge and analytics teams
- Expertise in logistics and climaterelated business topics
- Ability to navigate and relate to senior stakeholders in academia (professors PhDs)
- Good communication skills ability to talk through Powerpoint slides
- Cando mentality and independent work style
- Ability to connect with remote team and leadership
- Eligibility to work in Germany
- Fluency in English and at least one other language
You will work with
- The Executive Team of the KCC including the Senior Strategy Director and CEO
- Individual project teams researching and implementing solutions
- Currently one researcher in the team prospectively 56 knowledge & analytics colleagues
- KCC partners (Universities NGOs government agencies Business Partners)

Additional information
The KCC is a subsidiary of the Kuehne Foundation in Schindellegi Switzerland. Established in 1976 by the Khne family and is one of the largest foundations in the Germanspeaking world. As an operational foundation it is involved in the areas of logistics medicine culture and since the beginning of 2023 climate action. The Foundation is independent operational and international.
