Job Description
Overview
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
Responsibilities
Financial statements
- Produce and distribute monthly unit financial reports
- Research unit financial statement variances
- Assist with audit inquiries
General Ledger
- Prepare monthly GL entries and financial statement schedules
- Reconcile GL accounts as assigned
- Record monthly interest earned on bank accounts
Contract Revenue
- Prepare monthly invoices for provider services contracts
- Record and reconcile service contract activity
- Prepare monthly statement of contract revenue to units
Cash Management
- Prepare daily banking transactions for reporting to the payment posting team
- Record merchant service transactions including discount payments and chargeback data
- Review and approve bank transfers
- Record cash entries unrelated to patient accounts
Procurement
- Create purchase orders and coordinate with Materials Management and Accounts Payable as needed
- eReceiving on purchase orders
- Prepare sole source forms as needed
- Respond to vendor inquiries
Other Projects as Assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Proficient with Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field is preferred but not required
Prior experience in accounting
Knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
Ability to reconcile transactions to source documents
