Job Description

The Toolroom Machinist is responsible for programming setting up and operating the CNC Mill to produce parts to precise tolerances. This role collaborates with tool room personnel outside vendors engineers management and operators to schedule and deliver highquality parts.
Duties:Including but not limited to:
  • Program set up and run CNC Mill.
  • Read instructions and gauges and measure accurately.
  • Troubleshoot adjust and repair equipment.
  • Schedule and prioritize work through assigned areas.
  • Maintain compliance with safety quality and production standards.
  • Operate and work safely around moving equipment.
  • Maintain a valid Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) license.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work hours including overtime as needed.
  • Rotate to other positions as needed.
  • Regular and dependable attendance.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Pass drug screen vision screen preemployment tests and prework ability screen.
  • Previous machining experience preferred.
  • Manufacturingrelated and machining experience preferred.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer use.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Effective time management and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation (internal and external).
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel.
  • Capable of mentoring and training others.
  • Programming experience.
  • Presentation skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift up to 100 lbs. at waist level and 70 lbs. at shoulder level occasionally.
  • Push or pull with up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally.
  • Generate up to 90 lbs. of grip strength and 15 lbs. of pinch strength occasionally.
  • Perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day.
  • Average coordination with both hands continuously.
  • Stoop kneel squat and perform elevated work occasionally.
  • Reach frequently and stand continuously; walk frequently during shifts.
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to noise requiring hearing protection in designated areas.
  • Seasonal high temperatures and humidity.
  • Teambased environment with emphasis on concise respectful communication.
Progression Requirements:
  • All baselevel requirements must be met within two years of accepting the position. Advancement through progression levels is based on demonstrated technical and leadership skills as well as successful completion of required classes and certifications as determined by the progression review committee.
Base and progression levels include courses in:
  • Algebra/Trigonometry
  • AutoCAD
  • Industrial Math
  • Standard & Technical Blueprint Reading
  • Math of the Material Mechanic
  • Metallurgy
  • Mentoring and Training Techniques
  • Measurement Technology
  • Welding
  • Window/Door Product Courses (Online)
  • QC Qualification Courses (Online)
