Job Description

Typical Functions:

Assists in planning developing implementing and/or following up on interventions programs and/or services to students. Manages personnel fiscal and material resources and provides services in a timely manner. Maintains accurate complete and timely records as required by law agency policy and administrative directions. Interprets policies programs and procedures related to the delivery of services. Seeks selects and uses resources compatible with student/program needs provides leadership of the program and assesses and documents attainment of program objectives. Demonstrates proficiency in administering scoring/evaluating and interpreting data from instruments or records and uses evaluation to improve the delivery of services. Serves as a liaison between the school and relevant community services and/or agencies to facilitate services and consults with students families and school staff to assist in meeting the needs of students. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Abilities and Skills:

Knowledge of the principles of speech/language pathology. Knowledge of testing procedures and evaluation methods used with speech impairment/communication disorders. Knowledge of developmental theories in speech and language therapy. Ability to administer and evaluate auditory speech and language tests. Ability to conduct speech/language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans. Ability to compile data prepare reports and maintain files. Ability to oversee hearing impaired students amplification needs and repairs of amplification devices or systems. Ability to conduct individual or group speech therapy sessions. Ability to disseminate information and provide training to staff patients and external groups.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a masters degree in speechlanguage pathology from an educational institution recognized by the Arkansas Board of Examiners in SpeechLanguage Pathology and Audiology. Must be licensed as a Speech Pathologist by the Arkansas Board of Examiners in SpeechLanguage Pathology and Audiology in accordance with ACA. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
