Job Description

MARSHFIELD R1 SCHOOL DISTRICT

JOB DESCRIPTION

FULLTIME CUSTODIAN

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to perform general grounds cleaning.
  • Ability to operate required equipment.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work on a schedule independently.
  • High school diploma supplemented by formal training in related work plus one year minimum workrelated experience or any equivalent combination of education training and experience.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve months with two weeks vacation (awarded each month until 1 year of employment) compensation per salary schedule.

REPORT TO: Head custodian

PERFORMANCE

RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential job skills/knowledge and abilities:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and repair or report all nonfunctioning equipment.
  • Perform minor maintenance needs as assigned by the head custodian.
  • Assist the head custodian in the ordering of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain school grounds in an attractive clean and safe condition.
  • Cover weekend activities as assigned by building supervisor.
  • Shovel snow as required on school property.
  • Maintain and prepare athletic fields along with playgrounds in a clean and attractive manner.
  • Supervise parttime employees as well as student employees as needed.
  • Assist the head custodian as requested.
  • Lift trash and other objects up to 75 pounds
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by head custodian.

EVALUATION: Evaluated annually by head custodian.
