Certified Occupational Therapist (OT) Tucson Campus 612th Grade)

$1500 signon bonus(*

Arizonas first and only autismfocused charter school is expanding and seeking an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) to assess diagnose treat and help students with sensory processing disorders fine motor delay and visual perception concerns in the new stateoftheart autism center. We are currently looking for someone to provide services to our High School Campus in Tucson for 2 days per week.


The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for:


  • Assessment and implement Students occupational therapy needs
  • Supervision of COTA staff
  • Engage in datadriven instruction
  • Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies


Duties:

  • Assess students to identify eligibility and IEP needs
  • supervise mentor and support COTA
    • train COTAs and classroom staff to implement goals identified on student IEPs related to:
      • fine motor skills
      • life skills/training
      • psychosocial adaptations
      • sensory processing/adaptations
      • visual motor skills
  • Follow schoolwide systems rules and positive behavior interventions
  • Support the delivery of services in a classroom integration model
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families
  • Responsible for paperwork compliance with data collections relating to IEP goals
  • Accountability for growth and proficiency on IEP goals
  • Participate in annual and ongoing staff training
  • Write OT goals and progress monitoring data for students IEPs
  • Attend IEP/MET meetings for students with OT services
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

  • * A $1500 signon bonus of $750 is paid after the first 30 days of the start date and $750 after the current school year with satisfactory performance and attendance


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering services in a school setting in a classroom integration model preferred
  • Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance
  • Excellent verbal written and organizational skills
  • Minimum of two years OTR experience in a school setting preferred
  • Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA) preferred
  • Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card


Required:

  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance card
  • Bachelors Masters Degree or higher
  • Certified OTR in the state of Arizona


ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class require: stooping crouching reaching standing walking fingering grasping feeling talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.


Light Work:

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.


Working Conditions:

Work is routinely performed in an indoor classroom environment.
