Reporting to the Director of Finance Analytics & Consulting and working closely with our Data Science team Business Development & Sales team and (prospective) Clients this role leads our Data Science team.
Expected key results of this role are:
- Our analytical Credit Collection & Fraud models generate a high RoI are of high quality and are developed in a timely fashion
- Our On & Offshore Data Scientists are highly motivated and are being coached by you to unfold their full potential
- You develop own cuttingedge analytical models endtoend in the Credit Collection & Fraud domain
- Our Business Development team conceptualizes new feasible model ideas
- New clients and projects are being secured because of your contribution
The Senior Data Scientist will be a key member of our missiondriven startup like and very dynamic Arvato Finance Analytics & Consulting team that drives the ideation delivery and implementation of analytics projects along the Order2Cash process to IT/HighTech clients Credit Unions and Banks.
Our mission is to revolutionize Finance through Advanced Analytics Business Intelligence and Behavioral Biometrics.
The Senior Data Scientist contributes to this mission by being the thought leader for Advanced Analytics.
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
This role will be located in Seattle WashingtonorReno Nevada.
The SeniorData Scientist is part of the Arvato Analytics & Consulting Services team that supports through Data Intelligence Services
Advanced Applications &Analytics Services Reporting Services and Program Management Services in an onshore/offshore mix with our partner.
JOB DUTIES
- Oversee the endtoend development of all analytical models that our team develops:
- Enable our Data Scientists to provide highquality analytical models in a timely manner
- Oversee and consult during model ideation and requirement gathering
- Assess feasibility timelines and defining milestones
- Approve target variable and acceptance criteria
- Oversee and support data preparation and exploration; consult on what data is relevant including external data sources
- Manage the model development process suggest test design consult UAT and implementation into the Credit & Collection operation
- Train our Data Scientists in how to communicate and present insights to our clients
- Facilitate measurement of Return on Investment
- Support model maintenance and optimization
- Develop your own cuttingedge analytical models in the Credit Collection & Fraud domain
- Support our Business Development team and Account Managers
- Understand/determine the Credit Collection and/or Fraud business problems of our (prospective) clients
- Develop ideas for analytical models
- Drive solutions and conceptualization of new analytical model e.g. by assessing the feasibility determine timelines; consult our clients and prospective clients
- Present solutions to our (prospective) clients
- Support our Sales team in representing our Data Science team in prospective client meetings represent Arvato at conferences etc.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS
Essential Qualifications Training and Experience:
- Bachelors/Masters/Ph.D. degree in Math Computer Science Information Systems Machine Learning Statistics Econometrics Applied Mathematics Operations Research or related technical degrees
- Strong footprint 5 years) in analytical modeling and developing statistical models as well as applying machine learning algorithms
- Highly proficient and experience in working on data modeling projects using e.g. SAS R Python Azure ML KNIME SQL
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Credit and/or Collection business domain
- Track record of delivering multiple projects with tangible impact
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of experience
- Up to 50 travel expected
Desirable Qualifications Training and Experience:
- Work experience at a Bank or Credit Union in the US
- Strong experience in BI and Reporting tools (Power BI SAS Tableau or equivalent tools)
- Ability to conceptualize and develop reports and advanced analytics solutions
- Experience in Agile software development lifecycle methodologies
