You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailBoise State University invites interested applicants for the position of Lecturer in American Sign Language (ASL. This is a renewable ninemonth contract consisting of 12 credits of teaching and three units of service per semester which includes serving as ASL Program Coordinator. The successful candidate will have experience teaching a wide range of ASL courses including beginning to advanced language courses a demonstrated knowledge of proficiencyoriented methodologies and expertise in new technologies crosscultural sensitivity a dedication to program buildingincluding outreach to area high schools and/or the local deaf communityand a strong commitment to professional development. The successful candidate will effectively coordinate the scheduling and staffing of all courses offered by the ASL Section as well as ensure student advising and oversee the continued development of the programs curriculum. The position start date is August 2025.
Located in the Albertsons Library building at the heart of the Boise State campus alongside the Boise River the Department of World Languages is home to a vibrant passionate group of faculty teaching twelve different languages and the many vibrant cultures conveyed by and in those languages. Students can earn majors in French German and Spanish as well as minors and certificates in Arabic ASL Mandarin Chinese French German Japanese Korean Latin Portuguese and Spanish. The department also offers elementary Bosnian. In addition to faculty and staff offices the department houses the World Languages Resource Center (WLRC) where students meet for conversation labs and have access to more than 1200 films authentic language books and games recording equipment and mobile tablets and devices for use in and out of the classroom.
