THE OPPORTUNITY

The National College of Education (NCE) at National Louis University is pleased to announce its search for a fulltime faculty member in Secondary Education. We seek a colleague who can help provide leadership to the program in English/Language Arts (ELA). This professional educator may serve as Program Chair of Secondary Education working collaboratively with fulltime and adjunct faculty members for the preparation of teachers also in Social Sciences Mathematics Natural Sciences and World Languages.

This is a fulltime 10month openrank (Assistant/Associate) faculty position. The successful candidate will possess expertise in secondary education to support the growth of teacher preparation programs and to teach graduatelevel coursework at the masters level. Candidates will promote the infusion of current researchbased teaching methods into curriculum and instruction in NCEs traditional and alternative Secondary Education programs.

• Teaching content methods courses and practices corresponding to ELA curriculum expertise
• Coaching teacher candidates in fieldbased learning experiences
• Collaborating across disciplines to analyze teacher and student learning data to continuously design innovative teacher preparation practices.

• Doctorate earned in ELA Education or related educational field
• Three or more years of secondarylevel teaching experience related to the field of ELA
• Demonstrated or planned scholarly research agenda focused on ELA secondary education or teacher education

Preferred Qualifications:

• Is wellversed in the learning sciences and innovative applications of emerging technologies
• Has strong teaching and research skills
• Has proven experience and proficiency in teaching across various higher education platforms including online blended and facetoface formats.

Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
