We are a therapist owned company that specializes in physical occupational and speech therapy. We currently serve 14 communities in Central Iowa. We provide services to home health agencies hospitals longterm care facilities and outpatient clinics. We are dedicated to providing excellent oneonone patient care. Speech Therapist: Fulltime

SETTING:


Outpatient and Inpatient in a hospital setting


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assessment
    1. Acquire pertinent information relating to the patient.
    2. Evaluate and assess the speech language and/or swallowing skills of patients through various diagnostic tools and observation.
  • Diagnosis & Treatment
    1. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment and diagnosis.
    2. Provide direct therapy to patients to improve speech and language skills communication and/or swallowing.
    3. Teach and provide strategies to help patients improve.
    4. Reevaluate/modify treatment in response to changing patient needs.
    5. Record all pertinent patient information relating to evaluation treatment.
  • Professionalism
    1. Maintain a high standard of professional accountability with respect to safety efficiency effectiveness ethics and legal issues.
    2. Demonstrate appropriate and effective written verbal and nonverbal communication with patients their families medical staff colleagues and the public.
    3. Work as a team player.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    1. Maintain accurate and uptodate records of patient assessments progress and treatment plans in a timely manner.
    2. Prepare reports for patients family members and other healthcare providers to communicate progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Education and Training:
    1. Educate patients and their families about speech and language disorders treatment options and preventative care.
    2. Stay updated with the latest research and techniques in speech therapy through continuing education and professional development.
  • Patient Advocacy:
    1. Advocate for the needs of the patients.
    2. Support patients in overcoming barriers.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • A graduate of an accredited school
  • Current Iowa license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP or proactively in the process of the application process for current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP.(new grads are welcome to apply)
  • Valid drivers license
