Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI is a leading provider of critical decision support tools and services for the global investment community. We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Hedge Fund Index Client Coverage team in New York. In this role you will be working very closely with our Index coverage team and key partners who are tasked with strategically developing and qualifying revenue opportunities within new logos across the hedge fund client segment. This is an exciting opportunity to generate and hunt for new business opportunities to fuel our growth across the client segment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about finance and the hedge fund industry; have an eye for business and natural sales instincts; and be an eager highly motivated and tenacious selfstarter.

The role entails educating positioning and licensing MSCIs global equity index data to prospective clients. Sales Specialists use their knowledge of the investment management process modern portfolio theory and data distribution platforms (Bloomberg Factset Thompson etc. to identify solutions using MSCI tools for their clients. This role is a highly visible one with involvement in all aspects of account management including senior level relationship management indepth discussions regarding MSCIs index methodology commercial terms and contract negotiation closing sales and product setup and delivery. In this role individuals will work very closely with MSCI Product Management Global Client Service Client Consultants Marketing Global Sales Colleagues Legal Counsel and Finance Operations

Your Key Ressponsibilities

  • Drive New Business Growth: Identify and generate opportunities to expand MSCIs market presence.

  • Total Relationship Management involving: High level management contact Strategic Planning within territory. Develop and prioritize target account lists and detailed engagement strategies within your assigned territory.

  • Prospect Engagement: Utilize strategic outreach methods such as personalized emails strategic calls and social media engagement to establish new accounts. Conduct indepth discovery meetings and conversations with potential clients both virtually and inperson.

  • Crossfunctional Collaboration: Work closely with GoToMarket teams including Marketing Sales Client Service and Product to drive business growth and ensure all client requests are managed appropriately. Proactively solicit client feedback and share with Product Management Marketing Sales Colleagues and Research.

  • Maintain accurate records: Regarding account visits client conversations finalized contracts etc in Salesforce.

  • Achieve Growth Targets: Meet and strive to exceed quarterly goals for revenue targets.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Superior communication and time management skills: with the ability to handle multiple detailoriented projects.

  • Highly motivated: A selfstarter with the ability to work individually and within a team.

  • Experience in Outbound Prospecting: Previous experience preferably 35 years in outbound Sales roles with a track record of success; experience in selling to hedge funds or any financial services is advantageous.

  • Energetic and Proactive: A strong work ethic combined with an enthusiastic proactive team approach.

  • Exceptional Skills: Proficiency in problemsolving communication organization and time management. Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Hedge Fund industry Knowledge: Interest and knowledge in the hedge fund industry and a developed network within the hedge fund industry is a plus.

  • Adaptability: Ability to quickly adapt to new challenges and maintain a high sense of urgency.
