Our clients range from Operators to General Contractors in the upstream and midstream market sectors of the oil and gas industry. BlueFin Field Services is based in Lafayette LA.
Job Summary
Serve as Field Engineer working in the Service Department for land/offshore. Responsible for of tasks as assigned by the Service Supervisor Project Manager upperlevel engineers or other Management. Is operationally qualified verified and authorized as required for specific tasks. May lead limited scope projects in the absence of a Lead Service Technician or Supervisor or during a shift with prior approval. All work shall be performed in a safe professional and productive manner. Works under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform field services within capacity as directed and in accordance with specific project work plan procedures and/or standard operating procedures.
- Report to Service Supervisors when working in the field.
- Report to Project Manager and Business Group Manager when not working in the field.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Service maintain repair and test equipment/ tools pre/post jobs.
- Write or participate in writing JSAs for job task assigned.
- Load/ unload equipment.
- Learn all field services work and equipment in order to gain skills/knowledge.
- Competency or working towards competency in Scopes of Work.
- Increase knowledge and training on product lines and services.
- Participation and Compliance with BlueFin HSE and Quality Management System.
- Follow current workhours policy for both shop and field.
- Comply with all company policies (Safety quality general SOPs etc).
- Available 24hour call (except for scheduled vacation).
- Able to perform demanding physical labor in hot/cold environments and offshore.
- Valid Class E Drivers License or greater.
- Drive to and from job site locations.
- Participate in training.
- Service maintain repair and test equipment/ tools as needed and instructed in the shop.
- Monitor environment for unsafe conditions.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist in creating training documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Fouryear accredited engineering degree.
- 02 years of experience.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to type and look at a computer screen for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to pass a preemployment background check drug screen and/or physical.
- Ability to travel.
