The main purpose of the Senior Mechanical Commissioning Technician role is to deliver a high quality consistent and competent service in accordance with project / company requirements standards and procedures to support overall delivery of company goals and schedule. In addition to ensure all work scope is completed in a safe manner with no detrimental impact to personnel fabric or environment.
Experience & Education
Minimum 5 years experience in Energy commissioning required
Technical qualification or technical institute background preferred
Working knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements and restrictions
Knowledge of Energy facilities and associated control and safety systems
Proven ability to effectively and efficiently work as part of a team under direction from field supervision
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and work well with others
Proven ability to promote client relationships
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel within the US offshore and internationally
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with the site cardinal safety rules and all safety aspects in the of work by mechanical team
Complete field level risk assessments as well as mechanical team performance assessments and report findings to the Mechanical Lead
Interface with Construction and monitor contractors mechanical completion reporting all information to the Mechanical Lead
Oversee and assist Mechanical Lead in performing precommissioning and commissioning activities
Completion of approved precommissioning check sheets
Assist vendor representatives and site operations in commissioning and start up activities as scheduled by Mechanical Lead
Conduct walk downs as required representing the Mechanical commissioning discipline
Assist in executing mechanical commissioning procedures
Adhere to standards of Quality Health Safety and Environmental (QHSE) and comply with the Clients Company Health Safety & Environment Management (HSEM) System requirements; takes reasonable care of ones own health and safety and that of others in the workplace
Follow and maintain company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirements
Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb stairs ladders ramps and accessing and utilize scaffolding
Ability to carry tools bag (up to 50 lbs. bend body downward and forward kneel climb & walk
Ability to pass a background check / drug screen and physical
Work extended shift hours e.g. 12 hours / day or as dictated by project requirements
